Summary
The Customer Project Representative Senior leads the coordination and oversight of customer projects and is responsible for performing the duties of project administration that results in successful execution of major and diverse projects.
Projects require coordination and cooperation among numerous functional areas to meet critical objectives under pressing timelines. Serves as the primary customer representative and as an active partner in developing and monitoring comprehensive up-to-date work plans for level 3 and 4 project work segments, including schedule milestones, expenditures, and budget estimates and variances.
Minimum Requirements
- High school/GED and successful Completion of APS's Customer Project Representative Training Program or testing out of Customer Project Representative training and development subject matter, plus three (3) years customer or construction project related experience;
- OR BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent degree, and five (5) years customer project related experience with knowledge of transmission or distribution construction requirement and practices;
- OR equivalent combination of education and related customer or construction project management experience.
- Requires proficiency in the application of PC skills and programs for data management and project scheduling as well as the analytical ability to evaluate the interdependent relationship of project variables.
- A valid Arizona Driver's License is required.
- CPM Battery Aptitude Test is required.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
Computer skills: Windows, Word, Excel, CC&B, GIS, and work order management programs such as Maximo and Primavera.
Drafting/CAD experience.
May require Emergency response support for unusual or emergency situations, such as summer storms and/or other catastrophic events.
Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, and directing teams.
Knowledge of survey and right-of-way policies and procedures.
Strong interpersonal verbal and written skills.
Organization, project management, communication, and negotiation skills are essential.
Major Accountabilities
1) Perform as project representative for moderate to complex level 3 and 4 projects which typically include small and medium-sized commercial customers (e.g. master planned communities, subdivisions, apartments) and require more skilled consultation and distribution engineering. Plan, schedule, and coordinate all facets of the project from initiation through construction, energization and close out giving consideration to the best company source of power and most cost-effective design.
2) Effectively interface with customers and/or municipalities to assess their needs, determine the scope of the project, and obtain plans, maps, and/or drawings. Make key decisions regarding the layout of company facilities, consulting with external customers and/or municipality liaison and /or internal Planning and Operations as needed.
3) Responsible for oversight of resources, budgets, and plans for projects that are assigned. Coordinate project activities, reviews deliverables, monitors progress, and establishes priorities to ensure that projects' goals are accomplished. This includes performing necessary day-to-day administrative duties which may include negotiating for resources.
4) Obtain easements from the property owner.
5) Provide guidance to Customer Project Associates and Reps in the development of work authorizations (WA) and estimates.
6) Provide guidance to Customer Project Reps in the implementation of Schedule 3 (lines and services extension policy/rules) and feasibility studies.
7) Subject Matter Expert in the preparation of agreements/contracts, ordering materials and equipment, invoicing, and approvals processes.
