Senior SW Engineer

The role of Senior Software Engineer at Nokia focuses on developing software for the cellular network management system, specifically for the configuration management application. The engineer will contribute to feature specification, development, testing, and automation, utilizing their excellent coding skills in Java. This position is part of an international and multicultural environment, collaborating with teams from various sites and professionals worldwide. 

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work in a dedicated in-house development team, closely collaborating with experts. Your main responsibility will be developing software for a large system with hundreds of global installations. You will have the opportunity to lead and execute technical activities within your area of responsibility, contribute to technical documentation, and solve complex engineering problems in multiple technological areas. Coaching other team members and undertaking technical training responsibilities is also encouraged. The work environment at Nokia Tampere is dynamic and diverse, with a headcount of around 1000 people from 40 different countries. • Develop software for cellular network management system
• Contribute to feature specification, development, testing, and automation
• Write high quality, clean code using agile methods and tools
• Lead and execute technical activities in own responsibility area
• Write requirements, specifications, and other guiding documentation
• Solve complex engineering problems in various technology areas
• Coach team members at solving complex engineering problems
• Undertake technical training responsibilities

 

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering
• Excellent Java programming skills
• Comprehensive knowledge in version control (Git/Gerrit)
• Ability to write clean, test-covered code
• Experience with software testing (DFMEA, testing at different levels, automation, testing tools)
• Understanding of Linux OS Environment and related tools
• Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
