Job Summary:
Events are a critical part of our growth and business objectives, helping generate pipeline, increase Team Cymru recognition, and drive community support. The Director of Global Events will develop and execute a wide range of events that align with our strategic initiatives, including high-profile industry tradeshows, regional events, corporate gatherings, and hosted experiences across North America, Europe, and APJ. This role requires a highly organized and creative leader with proven experience in event and team management, and a passion for delivering exceptional experiences.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage and enable a global event marketing specialist to plan and execute key pipeline objectives.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Oversee the daily workflow of the event planning team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Execution:
- Identify and secure event venues, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships with vendors and partners.
- Create detailed event plans and exhibit floor plans, including budgets, timelines, and logistics.
- Identify and secure high-profile speakers, moderators, and panelists for events as needed.
- Plan and manage trade shows, conferences, and hosted roundtables, ensuring high-quality execution and ROI.
- Responsibility for budget and execution of hosted community outreach events, ensuring zero-cost event execution and on-site support.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and effective resource allocation.
- Track expenses and negotiate with vendors to achieve cost savings.
- Manage staffing, ensuring maximum cost containment with attendance and booth scheduling.
- Track and analyze event performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Collaboration & Strategy:
- Collaborate with global sales teams (Gov’t and Comm’l) to identify and prioritize key markets and events.
- Develop a comprehensive global events strategy based on territory and campaign performance.
- Analyze territory and campaign performance with KPIs to optimize marketing strategies and improve overall event performance (leads, MQLs, meetings, Opps).
- Leverage digital marketing channels, including social media and email, to promote events.
Post-Event Analysis:
- Conduct post-event evaluations to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
- Gather feedback from attendees, sponsors, and stakeholders to enhance future event planning.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent project management, organizational, and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with experience using marketing analytics tools, event software, and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
- Proven success in leading global, remote teams and collaborating cross-functionally through influence and mutual trust.
- Experience in vendor negotiation and contract management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Event Management, or a related field preferred.
- Over 10 years of hands-on experience in designing and managing global event programs for leading brands in the B2B marketing and cybersecurity industries.
- Proven experience managing budgets of $5-8M+.
- 4+ years of people management experience of direct teams.
Physical Requirements & Travel:
- Ability to travel globally as needed to support regional marketing events and initiatives. (Approximately 25% travel required)
