The Role at a Glance

 

We are looking for an experienced SQL Server DBA to join our team! As a Senior SQL Server DBA, you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems to ensure the availability, security and consistent performance of our SQL-based applications. This is a hands-on position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

 

What you'll be doing

 

  • Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Refine and automate regular and repeatable processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Provide 24x7 escalation support for critical production systems.
  • Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members and offshore MSP team.

 

What we’re looking for

 

Must Have:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in management information systems (MIS), computer science, information systems, or information technology
  • 7+ years hands-on MS SQL Server Administration experience required
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization, using native and third-party monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
  • Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Flexible, team player, can-do attitude
  • Ability to organize and plan work independently
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams

 

Nice to have:

 

  • 1-2 years hands on experience administering PostgresSQL highly desired
  • 1-2 years AWS experience highly desired
  • Some working knowledge of automation tools such as Puppet or Ansible

Pay Range: $90,300 - $164,700 

 

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
