SA-TECH supports the U.S. Army Sustainment Command’s Enhance Army Global Logistics Enterprise Logistics Support Services at Schofield Barracks, HI. We provide maintenance services in the form of above-brigade-level, field, sustainment, and limited depot-level maintenance support as well as transportation counseling services and handling passenger, equipment, and cargo movements for Army Field Support Battalion Hawaii’s (AFSBn-HAW) assigned tactical units and government affiliated civilian agencies.
We are seeking to hire a Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic Inspector to join our Maintenance Division in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii to execute the planned daily activities of the Maintenance Quality Control section. This position reports to the Maintenance Division Manager.
Primary Functions (consist of but are not limited to):
- Issue work assignments and provide technical guidance across the performance of technical inspections (both on-site and off-site) on a wide range of tactical wheeled vehicles, construction equipment, Power Generation Equipment, and Special Purpose Equipment.
- Perform technical inspections (both on-site and off-site) on a wide range of Army tactical and commercial wheeled vehicles, power generation units, construction equipment, MILVAN containers, electric carts, portable light sets, and material handling equipment.
- In order to certify standards of repair have been met, along with the operational readiness of the equipment, perform technical inspections to determine equipment condition upon receipt of work orders and final inspections once repairs are complete, to include stage III/IV corrosion assessments.
- Prepare detailed technical inspections, across supportable equipment types, using AR 750-8 required forms.
- Identify man-hours, needed troubleshooting, and repair part requirements.
- May be required to prepare Estimated Costs of Repair/Damage/Fabrication (ECOR/ECOD/ ECOF) and equipment Classifications as required.
- Facilitate and oversee the daily progress of technical, in-process, and final inspection, while ensuring DA PAM 750-8 compliance.
- Inspect equipment, identify needed troubleshooting and/or performance of diagnostics as identified across a wide variety of Army technical manuals/bulletins (TM/IETM/TB) in order to validate or determine repair faults.
Work Conditions:
- Will be required to report to customer locations for weapons gauging on USAG-HI sites.
- May be needed to work overtime periodically when required and regular work hours may, with proper notification, be adjusted to meet contract requirements.
Requirements
Education/Experience/Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Specialized training through vocational or military school and/or a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
- Broad scope of mechanical expertise related to equipment operations across tactical & commercial heavy equipment.
- Must possess the skills and knowledge needed to identity TM/TB inspection/repair criteria tied to field and sustainment level repair standards utilizing initial, in-progress, and final inspections.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and interpret guides, TM/IETM work packages, instructions, and/or commercial manuals as needed to identify the nature of malfunctions, parts requirements, and standards of repair across maintenance allowable time charts (MAC standards).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Forklift license/certification.
- Current Hawaii Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working
