How can you make a difference?
Under the direct supervision of the Advocacy & Communication Specialist and in close collaboration with SECOMS, the Consultant will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering a comprehensive technical training module on climate change reporting for media professionals, with a specific focus on climate-smart solutions under the C3SI initiative.
WORK ASSIGNMENT:
- Develop a technical module on Climate Change reporting
- Deliver 2 x 1.5-day training workshops to media on Climate change reporting
DELIVERABLES:
1. - Inception report and work plan
- Comprehensive training curriculum and module framework
- Complete training package (manual, presentations, tools)
2. - Facilitated training workshops
- Final training and evaluation report
- Sustainability and capacity-building recommendations
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Minimum requirements:
- Education: Master's degree in Journalism, Communication, Environmental Studies, Climate Science, Development Studies, Public Policy or a related field.

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in:
- Climate change, environmental journalism, or climate advocacy;
- Designing and delivering training programmes
- Developing technical training modules and materials.
- Strong expertise in climate change, climate adaptation, and resilience programming
- Working with international organizations, UN agencies, NGOs, or development partners
- Strong analytical, writing, and editing abilities
- Prior experience in Timor-Leste or the Asia-Pacific region is desirable
- Fluency in English is required
- Working knowledge of Tetum and/or Portuguese is an asset
