Job Summary

The Production Manager oversees daily food manufacturing operations to ensure products are produced on schedule while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, efficiency, and sanitation. This role ensures compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMP, and company standards, while supporting production goals by minimizing waste, reducing downtime, and coordinating with cross-functional teams. The Production Manager also supervises and trains employees, fostering a safe, compliant, and positive work environment.

Essential Job Functions
•    Oversee daily food production operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and adherence to production schedules;
•    Monitor production lines for downtime, waste, and compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs);
•    Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and Scheduling teams to resolve production issues promptly;
•    Assist in meeting production targets while minimizing waste and rework;
•    Enforce compliance with food safety regulations including FDA, USDA, HACCP, and GMP standards;
•    Ensure proper sanitation, hygiene, allergen control, and food handling procedures are consistently followed;
•    Conduct routine line checks, batch record reviews, and production documentation audits;
•    Report and escalate food safety, quality, or production deviations immediately;
•    Supervise hourly production employees during assigned shifts;
•    Provide training, coaching, and support to new and existing employees on safety, quality, and operational procedures;
•    Ensure employees follow attendance, safety, quality, and company policies;
•    Support employee engagement and maintain a positive working environment;
•    Enforce workplace safety regulations and OSHA standards;
•    Conduct shift safety meetings and incident prevention activities;
•    Report accidents, injuries, and near misses while assisting with investigations and corrective actions;
•    Ensure proper use of PPE and safe machine operations;
•    Complete production reports, downtime logs, labor tracking documents, and shift hand-off communications;
•    Review and maintain accurate production and batch records in a timely manner;
•    Assist with internal audits, inspections, and compliance activities;
•    Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in productivity, labor utilization, and quality;
•    Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Lean, and Kaizen programs;
•    Support implementation of process improvements under management direction;
•    Assist with inventory control and raw material availability checks;
•    Support operational planning and scheduling adjustments as needed;
•    Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, labor rules, and professional standards;
•    Support corrective action processes when performance or behavioral issues arise;
•    Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times; and
•    Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
