What the job involves

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our financial operations. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, you will be entrusted with overseeing general ledger functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and actively contributing to strategic decision-making processes.You will also be responsible for accurately processing invoices, managing vendor relationships, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage general ledger entries for various accounts.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts (Prepaids, Accruals, Fixed Assets, etc.) at period end to ensure comprehensive support for balances.
• Prepare payroll and related documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with payroll procedures.
• Review and adjust attendance and timesheet records.
• Calculate or verify gross pay, overtime, supplemental pay, and pay adjustments.
• Support month-end closing processes by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for various cycles.
• Assist in quarterly external audits and internal audits.
• Undertake special projects and other ad hoc assignments as delegated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience in accounts payable.
• Experience in an early-stage or high-growth company, demonstrating adaptability in limited team resources and evolving processes.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Intermediate to advanced skills in spreadsheet software (Google Sheets and/or Excel).
• Highly effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks appropriately, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

• Familiarity with NetSuite
• Publicly audited company experience

Target Salary Range

• $70,000 - $100,000
• Company granted equity
