Capital One Software is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to join our Rapid Prototyping Team, which is responsible for demonstrating our data security solution’s ability to address emerging customer use cases and showcasing key product capabilities. This team plays a crucial role in both product-led prototyping (building a golden demo to highlight product strengths) and customer-led prototyping (responding rapidly to customer needs through product demonstrations and wireframes).

As a Solutions Architect, you will work closely with customers to understand their security and data management needs, design and deliver technical prototypes, and collaborate with product and engineering to influence the roadmap. This role requires deep expertise in data security, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate customer challenges into practical solutions.

What you’ll do

• Engage with customers to understand their data security needs and showcase how our product solves their challenges.

• Design and develop solution prototypes that demonstrate our data security product’s capabilities in real-world scenarios.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align prototypes with the roadmap and address customer needs.

• Lead technical discussions and presentations, articulating our product’s value to both technical and business audiences.

• Provide architectural guidance, ensuring the prototypes integrate seamlessly into customer environments.

• Document solution designs and success criteria to support customer adoption and internal development.
   

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems

• At least 7 years of experience in solution architecture, data security, or enterprise software.

• At least 4 years of experience working with customers to design and implement security and data management solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a technical field or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP).

• Strong understanding of data protection techniques, access control models, and cloud security best practices.

• Experience in data security product development or security architecture.

• Familiarity with cloud-based security solutions and enterprise SaaS architectures.

• Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
