The C2BMC Next Program, based in Huntsville AL, is seeking a Software Engineer to design, write and maintain templates for Windows and Linux platforms using Ansible, Packer, Python and other scripting languages.
Your primary responsibilities will include building and operating an end-to-end automation pipeline that provisions, hardens and configures systems for the C2BMC program.
As a Software Engineer, you will Develop reusable Ansible playbooks and custom scripts that automatically apply the DoD STIG baseline to C2BMC systems.
What You Will Do:
- Integrate automated testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance verification into the stack.
- STIG Baseline Hardening Automation, Develop reusable Ansible playbooks and custom scripts that automatically apply the DoD, STIG baseline to C2BMC systems. Track and remediate any compliance drift on an ongoing basis
- Configuration-Management Baseline. Establish a single source of truth for all configuration data (inventory, variables, secrets) that feeds the Ansible automation.
- Implement secure secret management (Vault Azure Key Vault. AWS Secrets Manager, etc.)
- Containerization –building. packaging, and deploying containerized applications (Docker)
- Scripting Languages - Expert-level scripting experience in Python and Bash
- Cl/CD Platforms - Hands-on experience with Gitlab Cl/CD (or Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub)
- Experience with Version Control & Collaboration - Mastery of Git workflows.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code Tools
- Proficiency with Terraform/Packer
- Monitoring & Observability- Experience configuring telemetry (Prometheus, Grafana.)
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Experience applying extensive expertise in solving complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity, scalable and maintainable proofs of concept with production implementations in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Experience in project leadership roles and represents the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters on contracts, developing and maintain building systems for external images using technologies
- Experience leading a software team using Agile software development practices.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Proficiency in Project Management Tools: Experience using Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms for scheduling, task management, and tracking project progress.
- Agile Methodology Expertise: Strong understanding and application of Agile methodologies, including SCRUM, for iterative development and team collaboration.
- Risk Management: Skilled in identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing proactive solutions to ensure project success.
- Requirements Management: Experience in decomposing, prioritizing, and managing technical and functional requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring alignment across engineering, operations, and program leadership to achieve objectives.
