Senior Director, Business Operations - Small Business & Financial Services GroupSmall businesses have always been at PayPal’s foundation since the company’s inception. Today, PayPal serves over 34 million merchant accounts, and the vast majority are small businesses. PayPal aims to solve two core problems for these small businesses: helping them get more customers and helping them manage cash flow. To better enable PayPal to solve these problems, the Small Business and Financial Services Group has been formed with teams accountable for bringing together all products and services that help small business owners run and grow their businesses. The Senior Director of Business Operations reports directly to the EVP and General Manager of the Small Business and Financial Services Group and leads a diverse set of priorities to ensure effective business management.
Job Description:
Key Priorities:
Cross functional collaboration across Small Business and Financial Services Group inclusive of both business leads and functional partners, and coordination of financial and investment planning for the business in partnership with Finance, including alignment on submission for monthly forecasting cycles.
Management and prioritization of financial opportunities and risks to meet financial targets, working with business leaders to identify and accurately track material opportunities and risks and coordination of budgeting processes.
Partnering closely with business and finance leaders to solve corporate challenges and set stretch targets for operating and loss expenses.
Developing and managing the Small Business and Financial Services Group performance scorecard to ensure transparency and execution focus across functions.
Leading key horizontal efforts that support business performance, in partnership with relevant stakeholders, including employee engagement and communications, workforce planning, and organization design initiatives.
Providing operational support to the EVP and General Manager by owning all business unit review storyboards and decks, streamlined reporting, business routines logistics & agenda management, and various ad-hoc projects.
Nurturing a culture that reflects our leadership principles and champions diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging through actions and outcomes.
Key Qualifications:
15+ years of business planning and CAO relevant experience in a large-scale, heavily matrixed, high-growth global function or business.
Deep expertise with business case development, and demonstrated financial acumen focused on operational excellence in managing budgets and forecasting.
Proven effective collaborator with strong execution quotient, operating in a fast-moving, matrixed, relationship-focused environment.
Data-driven and highly organized with superior project management skills.
Demonstrated learning agility and passion for taking on new challenges and executing with high velocity.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, especially with storyboarding and deck writing for diverse audiences ranging from senior executives to broad-based employee groups.
Global and domestic travel – up to 30%.
BS or BA preferred.
