We are seeking a motivated and high-performing Fleet Operations Technician to join our team as our first fleet team hire in the USA, overseeing the maintenance of Halter's infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for building an efficient operational system, identifying and resolving market-specific challenges, and playing a pivotal role in shaping our operations in the region. This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative initiative that is driving significant change within the cattle ranching industry. You will play a key role in our USA rollout, offering essential support to farms during deployment and ensuring ongoing maintenance throughout their journey with Halter.
This role can be based anywhere in Montana or Wyoming.
This position requires versatility and adaptability. You may find yourself repairing and upgrading infrastructure one moment and delivering towers and collars the next. You will be the go-to person, responsible for ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively for an unmatched customer experience.

What your day could look like
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep and repair of Halter’s infrastructure to ensure seamless operations.
- Hardware Diagnosis: Diagnose any issues with our hardware and feed this information back to the relevant team.
- Versatility: Ability to transition smoothly between tasks, from repairing and upgrading infrastructure to delivering towers and collars as needed.
- Deployment Support: Provide critical on-site support during farm deployments if needed, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring successful installations.
- On-call: Be part of the global on-call roster to support tower-related incidents and proactively find solutions in a timely manner.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the team both in the USA and at Halter’s Auckland HQ to ensure alignment and successful customer outcomes.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve technical challenges promptly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to farm operations.
- Adaptability: Be prepared to manage a variety of tasks, often simultaneously, to meet the dynamic needs of the role.
- Data Analysis: Ability to collect, interpret, and analyze data from our hardware, optimize processes, and inform decision-making. You'll ensure that actionable insights are extracted to improve operational efficiency and resolve issues proactively.
- Development and management of a maintenance system for our USA market.
- Travel: With our customers based across the USA. You will be required to travel frequently.

- Practical, hands-on experience with tools, electrical work, construction, networking, or equipment fitting is a must!

- Willingness to travel: Spontaneous & planned travel will be included in this role. You might be 3 or 4 days on the road per week. You may also be 3 nights away from home per week.
Bonus Qualifications (These are not mandatory for you to apply)
- Agriculture Experience (Preferred): While not mandatory, experience in the agriculture sector would be highly beneficial.
