Overview
The Corporate Director of Occupational and Employee Health is responsible for leading, overseeing, and executing PAM Health’s Occupational Health strategy and programs. This role ensures the development, standardization, and implementation of health and safety practices that comply with federal, state, and internal regulations. The Corporate Director of Occupational and Employee Health will provide strategic and clinical leadership in areas including employee health, occupational health and reporting, injury prevention, medical and emergency response, and fitness-for-duty and return-to-work procedures. The role collaborates closely with Employee Services, Nurse Managers, HR, and Risk Management to align efforts, ensure quality care for employees, and drive continuous improvement. This is an exempt position.
Responsibilities

- Perform initial clinical assessments of injured or ill employees or contractors, determine appropriate work status, provide direct nursing care, and ensure follow-up through appropriate referrals in accordance with established procedures.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and potential exposure incidents, ensuring accurate communication and documentation in accordance with established procedures, regulatory requirements, and workplace safety standards.
- Partner with and oversee the Employee Services Managers’ case management and coordination of health care services from the onset of work-related injury evaluation, through worker's compensation injury/risk/claim management, return-to-work evaluation and return to work or an optimal alternative.
- Collaborate with and guide the hospital Nurse Managers on standardized employee health practices.
- Develop, implement and evaluate education, training and awareness programs for occupational health programs.
- Seek and share occupational health industry trend information.
- Maintain medical confidentiality in all interactions, serving as a liaison to support communication of work status and accommodations.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain accurate documentation aligned with federal, state, and internal standards.
- Ensure and perform clinical skills including, but not limited to, blood draws, medication administration, physical assessment, pulmonary function testing, hearing testing, and respirator fit testing.
- Identify and communicate employee work-related health concerns and safety issues to appropriate leaders.
