FLEX Director, Product Management - GenAI Studio

This is a temporary position.   

Marriott’s GenAI Studio seeks a passionate and innovative Director Of Product Management to lead the charge in developing generative AI solutions. In this pioneering role, you will be responsible for identifying high-impact use cases, crafting product strategies, and collaborating with vendors and stakeholders to drive the responsible deployment of AI-powered features that empower associates, delight guests, and drive business value. 

 

This role will report to the Vice President of the GenAI Studio.

 

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

 

• Vision: Collaborate with executives, business unit leaders, and GenAI Studio teammates to define the product vision and roadmap for generative AI initiatives. Identify strategic opportunities to leverage AI for improving guest experience, associate productivity, and Marriott operations.
• People-first: Serve employees and customers by digging deep to uncover and understand their needs and pain points. Translate this understanding into actionable product requirements that both address their needs and drive business results.  
• Drive Product Design and Development: Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and user experience specialists to translate product requirements into reality. Manage the development lifecycle of generative AI features, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to Marriott standards. 
• Be responsible: Champion responsible AI, working on behalf of marginalized people to ensure they are well served by product features. Establish clear acceptance criteria involving output accuracy, user privacy, company security, and brand integrity.
• Measure Success: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the impact of generative AI initiatives. Analyze and report results, and work with business partners to accelerate, iterate, or discontinue work on relevant features accordingly.
• Communicate Effectively: Articulate the value proposition of generative AI to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, minus the hype. Present product roadmaps, progress updates, and business results in a clear and compelling manner.  
• Change agent: If a process or way of working needs improvement, articulate the problem and the business case for fixing it, identify the solution, and lead the way toward change.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

 

Qualifications:

• A proven track record of leading product teams to launch successful technology solutions in an agile environment. 
• A passion for AI, along with a demonstrable understanding of it. Working knowledge of how managing AI products differs from traditional software products.
• Comfortable when working in ambiguity. A knack for breaking difficult problems down into logical steps, and getting teams focused on what’s actionable, rather than what’s not. 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across various departments. 
• A foundation in driving data driven decisions at-speed. 
• People-first, always.

 

Education/Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in product management, with a proven track record of launching successful technology products.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and agile development methodologies.
• Direct experience in building products that involve generative AI models (GPT, Gemini, Claude, Stability, etc.) and/or traditional AI.
• Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or other areas of AI that are applicable to the hospitality industry.

 

The pay range for this position is $56.58 to $90.05 per hour.
