Accounting Assistant

On behalf of our client, a leading name in the maritime sector, we are seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to join their team in Greece. 

A Day in the life of an Accounting Assistant

The right-chosen candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of the specific tasks assigned. The Accounting Assistant will be reporting directly to the Accounts Department Head. 

This position is located in Koropi. 

Your day-to-day

• Processing of Customer Sales Orders / Invoices 

Scrutinising sales quotes issued and converting these into sales invoices

Ensuring the prices quoted are in line with the company’s pricing list

Confirming any discounts allowed have been pre-approved

• Process of supplier invoices

• Reconcile supplier statements and manage any discrepancies

• Assisting the Head of Finance to oversee various financial operations, such as the:

Review of timesheet reports provided

Proper Cost allocation to jobs

Review of costs recharges

• Maintaining accurate financial records 

• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports up to trial balance stage

• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and local regulations
• Overseeing and handling MYData reporting 
• Carrying out monthly bank reconciliations
• Supporting in the day to day accounting duties

Requirements

• At least 3 years of previous local experience in a similar role 
• Ability to work and meet deadlines 
• Fluency in English language both spoken and written
• Accounting and finance graduate
