Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a 787 Customer Engineering Manager (Level K) at the delivery center in Charleston, SC. This role involves specifying and integrating advanced solutions that enhance the performance and safety of the 787 Dreamliner. The successful candidate will oversee systems analysis and integration efforts, ensuring that the team effectively manages manpower planning, cost account management, supplier management, and product verification.

Position Overview:

In this position, you will work closely with the program to meet delivery commitments while identifying and resolving constraints that may impact delivery from the customer. Your leadership will be crucial in facilitating collaboration among various teams to ensure that the 787 program remains on track and continues to meet customer expectations.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Systems Engineering.

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, SC.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline.

  • 3+ years of experience managing or leading engineering teams

  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from conception to completion.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Proven ability to lead with the Boeing Values

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of innovative solutions in engineering challenges.

  • Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to all stakeholders.

  • Solid technical background with the ability to guide and mentor the team.
