Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operations of the Critical Care and Trauma Institute (CCTI) within the designated region. Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as relates to the care provided. Implementation of standardized practice and quality measures across the CCTI areas of oversight. Maintains efficient and effective departmental operations while in required compliance with all state, federal and local regulations, laws standards and protocols. Ensure the mission of CCTI, WVUH and WVU Medicine are upheld.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Three years of management and/or administrative experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Three years of management and/or administrative experience in the healthcare field.
2. Experience in an academic environment.

1. Strategic and administrative oversight responsibility for Critical Care and Trauma Institute.
2. Oversees Quality and Performance Improvement initiatives assuring compliance with WVUM mission, strategic direction and goals.
3. Coordinates, develops and implements program activities, priorities, long, medium and short-range plans.
4. Identifies the goals and objectives of each program, develops a plan to achieve them and successfully executes the plans.
5. Leads the development and facilitation of clinical care data collection and outcome studies
6. Facilitates program plan development identifying recommendations for change and justifications.
7. Leads development and facilitation of clinical care data collection and outcome studies.
8. Facilitates development of clinical policy, guidelines and best practice models consulting with other services as necessary.
9. Promotes and maintains effective communication with and between medical, managerial and employee staffs.
10. Knows and practices the philosophy, purpose, policies and procedures Critical care and Trauma Program oversight
11. Acts as a clinical and administrative resource person to the region of oversight.
12. Delegates authority and tasks commensurate with the employee’s job description and ability.
13. Maintains open communication with physicians. Relays information in a timely manner.
14. Maintains an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
15. Manages, as appropriate, the operational, personnel, and financial aspects of CCTI, in collaboration with the local leadership.
16. Provides ongoing feedback to employees concerning job performance in a professional and constructive manner. Outlines goal development plans for direct reports. Counsels and disciplines employees when necessary.
17. Performs on-going written performance reviews and any necessary employee action plans according to hospital policy.
18. Initiates and maintains appropriate personnel records.
