Provides material handling support to the manufacturing areas through transporting product to and from any stage of manufacturing manually, or by using a powered lift truck to ensure budgeted throughput rates area maintained in all operations in the Department. The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Transports finished products from manufacturing to pre-sterile or shipping areas.

  • Determines raw material requirements, retrieves materials from the accurate location, completes the appropriate issuing transactions and delivers to Manufacturing.

  • Verifies the correct count before and after selecting materials from a location.  Maintains license plates in current locations (as needed).

  • Deliver molded components to Raw Material Warehouse.

  • Scan materials to storage locations in warehouse

  • Remove materials from warehouse storage locations and prepare for transportation to production

  • Delivers raw materials to the suggested storage area for said item in the production area.  Pallets must be clean prior to entering the production area per GMP.

  • Communicates with the Receiving Coordinator, Purchasing, Planners, and/or Production Supervisors about shortages or potential shortages.

  • Keeps aware of the daily schedule and organizes raw materials for current and new orders to be run on the next shift.

  • Cycle counts raw materials to maintain accuracy of raw material inventory.  Reports discrepancies to the Receiving Coordinator.

Other responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Complies with all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies/procedures.

  • Complies with all local BD quality policies/procedures/practices through consistent application of sound Quality Assurance principles.

  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

  • Observes all safety, environmental and quality system standards.

Education/Experience

  • Must be able to count accurately.

  • Must be familiar with Plant GMP and be safety oriented.  General knowledge of job in one month, proficient operation requires 4 to 5 months on-the-job training.

  • Ability to read, write and understand English well.

  • Counting accuracy important.

  • The ability to cycle count and analyze previous day's edits.

Physical Requirements(Level 3)

Medium Work: 

  • Exerting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly.  Physical demands requirement are in excess of those for Light Work.

Equipment Use

  • The ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet mover, hand trucks, and stretch wrap machine. 

  • Have a solid understanding of keyboard and data entry. 

  • Must be a licensed forklift operator

Working Conditions

The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions.  Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

Supervision

Reports directly to Shipping and Receiving Supervisor.  Also receives work direction from Receiving Coordinator.
