Senior Extrusion Manager – Flexible Packaging
Huhtamaki’s Flexible packaging segment are currently looking to hire an experienced Senior Extrusion Manager to join our team. Reporting into the VP Global Operations, Flexibles and a member of the global innovation and product development team for films, this role will set and lead the extrusion capabilities (process/recipes), ensuring high safety standards and harmonizing processes in all plants across Flexible Packaging.
You will be the subject matter expert covering blown film, cast film, extrusion coating/lamination. In addition, you will coordinate and collaborate with Innovation, WCO, Sourcing and the flexible plants.
The position can be based in any country where Huhtamaki Flexibles have a legal entity.
Key Responsibilities
Drive standardization and harmonization of the internal film production plants across the footprint of Flexibles.
Develop close cooperation and coordination with Innovation, Engineering, WCO/Operations, Sourcing and all film producing plants.
Driving Cost Out through improved quality, productivity improvements and waste reduction.
Leader of the Communities of Practice (CoP) and a global expert community in extrusion and polymers and establish a network of film producing process engineers assigned to specific extrusion plants.
Succession planning, identify and develop process engineering talent at the film producing plants across the Flexibles footprint.
Using the available data (WCO, KPIs, plant data) analyze and identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
Work closely with plant operators (film and conversion), production management, quality, planning, maintenance and Innovation standardizing and harmonizing blueloop products.
Maintain close cooperation with the machine supplier(s) for trouble shooting, knowledge building and continuous improvement.
Provide technical and process knowledge for capital investments at the film production plants, upgrading existing assets or specifying new assets utilizing new technologies.
Maintain close informal contacts to your counterparts in the Huhtamaki group that deal with the same equipment.
Build and safe-guard process knowledge and exchangeability of films/products/processes across the films footprint and utilizing the digital capabilities of the equipment (data analytics tools).
Qualifications and Experience
Demonstrated experience of driving Extrusion capabilities across a complex business at a global level.
Experience of continuous improvement programs across multiple film production plants focused on waste, reduction of customer claims, complexity reduction (process and resins), maximizing output/efficiencies, improving internal quality.
Significant people management experience, demonstrating coaching, development, delivery, and progression of individuals and teams.
Strong individual and collaborator.
Demonstrates positivity and embraces change and encourages others to do the same.
Able to develop, implement, track performance and embed strategies for improvement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English is necessity, others are advantageous).
Driven by customer satisfaction (internal/external) and process excellence.
