JOB SUMMARY
The Deputy Program Manager (DPM) provides management and support to assigned sites and personnel within their region for fulfillment of program and customer objectives. The DPM will provide essential support to the Program Manager (PM) in overseeing all contractor personnel assigned to their areas of responsibility. The DPM will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of the contract, addressing technical issues, and optimizing business processes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee large scale and complex project in austere environment.
- Advise project team members in the development of detailed project schedules, status reports, and projections.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to project teams, especially during challenging client situations.
- Provide overall project leadership while keeping a finger on the pulse of day-to-day project activities.
- Nurture existing client relationships and forge new ones.
- Provide expert operational and administrative leadership and site management.
- Ensure health, safety, welfare, development, and appropriate training of all assigned employees.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure timely and accurate execution of contractual requirements, data gathering, and performance reporting.
- Provide leadership, training, and development to instill a culture of continuous improvement and high performance within assigned sites.
- Develop and conduct briefings and presentations to senior leadership and US government representatives.
- Ensure personnel adhere to host, company, federal, and state mandated laws, regulations, and requirements.
- Proven verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills with ability to lead, coach, and supervise a team.
- Ability to gather research and analyze events, metrics, data, and write reports.
- Ability to exercise discretion and make effective decisions
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
- Knowledge of US Air Force operations and contracting support in contingency environment
- Ability to analyze technical problems, their impact on the business, and create solutions suitable for current and future business environments.
- Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in operations and maintenance, general construction, logistics, or similar work with at least ten (10) years in a leadership role
- Prefer to experience working with diverse cultures and various trade skills in an austere, hazardous environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS
- The assignment location may be in remote and austere areas, requiring adaptability and resilience.
- Must be capable of working long hours, varying weather conditions and hazardous environments.
- Remain prepared for the possibility of relocation on short notice under adverse conditions.
- Must possess the physical endurance to manage extended periods of standing, walking, and potentially strenuous activities.
- Must be ready to respond to emergencies, including participating in evacuation or crisis management procedures as needed.
- Capable of adapting to changes in work conditions, including shifts in workload, tasks, and environmental factors.
