About the Department:

Sales Engineering at FactSet is responsible for designing enterprise solutions at scale for large & sophisticated clients across the financial services industry – including Asset Management, Wealth Management, Asset Owners + Banking. We elevate relationships and drive advisory partnerships with the C-Suite business and technology staff. Our focus is on the blueprinting of practical FactSet and third-party powered solutions to our clients’ most pressing business challenges grounded in FactSet’s 40 years of experience in content, analytics, technology & services.

Sales Engineering is a multi-disciplinary organization focused on business advisory & technological consulting, due diligence, and process engineering. We are built around a highly matrixed group of relationship managers, architects, engineers, and advocates who bring to our clients a deep bench of industry & technical experience across the complete investment lifecycle. Sales Engineering is aligned with both FactSet’s Sales and Technology organizations, offering our clients the benefits of FactSet’s deep bench of client service personnel and more than 2,400 technologists and product developers.

About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic candidate to join our Sales Engineering team. As a key player, you will have the opportunity to take our team to the next level by utilizing your proven track record in managing the pre-sales lifecycle and effectively partnering with various teams across the organization. You will be responsible for cultivating and driving specific sales opportunities with an enterprise mindset, leveraging our front/middle/back-office reference designs and a blueprinting approach. You are entrepreneurial, process-driven, and can build relationships with business & technology buyers, With your deep understanding of our financial client needs, industry trends, and the competitive ecosystem of vendors + platforms, you will help senior management understand the importance of ‘connecting the dots’ when it comes to people, process, technology, and data.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with FactSet's global sales and client service professionals to build and execute on a pipeline of large revenue, high-impact enterprise deals using our platform capabilities combined with a wide range of content, analytics, and functional capability partners.
  • Foster growth in FactSet's sales pipeline by building individual relationships with sales managers, executive relationship officers, global account managers, and local sales executives.
  • Act as a client-facing subject matter expert, showcasing FactSet's full suite of solutions and demonstrating how clients can leverage our applications, content, technology, and services at an enterprise scale.
  • Engage with Client CTOs, CDOs, and COOs to drive digital transformation and operational efficiency exercises, providing expertise in modern technologies.  Comfortable with leading strategic as well as tactical conversations on modern technologies including Cloud, Data Pipelines, APIs, GenAI, Web Technologies, Authentication, Security, etc.
  • Collaborate with FactSet's Engineering, Product, and Strategy organizations to identify opportunities and craft enterprise solutions.
  • Utilize your deep understanding of Front Office (Research, Trading, Sales + Marketing), Middle Office (Performance, Risk, Reporting, Distribution), and Back Office (Security Reference / Real-time / IBOR / ABOR, Custodial, Support, Operations) workflows to articulate competitor differences and present compelling target operating models to clients.

Requirements:

  • 15-20+ years of proven experience in a client-facing role, including previous sales, pre-sales, sales engineering, or strategic consulting experience, within financial services, fintech, or market data firms/consultancies.
  • Prior experience with technology, either through work experience or education (such as a degree in Information Systems, Business Technology, Computer Science, or similar).
  • Ability to represent FactSet at the C-Suite and Director level of our clients, building upon prior experience growing and nurturing a network at these levels of our client organizations.
  • Broad understanding of FactSet's product suite, including applications, content, technology, services, and workflow solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to both business and technology stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to interpret client requirements and match them with FactSet's diverse range of offerings.
