The Role
YouLend has an incredible opportunity available within our dynamic Operations Team. You will join our Payments sub-team to build and maintain an in-depth understanding of our platform, provide support to the rest of the business which includes problem solving, data analysis and other ad hoc projects. We are constantly innovating and automating workflow, and you will be expected to contribute your views on how we can continuously improve and better integrate workflows. You will support your Team Lead and agree strategies to improve both our customer service, payments and funding processes
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Daily execution of payments, including Faster Payments, International Payments, in line with the agreed cut offs
- Reconcile the correct allocation of incoming payments within agreed times scales.
- Investigate and correctly resolve payment exceptions, (e.g. rejections, bounce backs, etc.)
- Completing Post Funding Requests in line with SLAs
- Liaising with internal and external partners regarding payment delays, as applicable, and managing the solution to those delays with the Payments Team Lead
- Assigning payments from third party debt purchasers
- Monitoring transactions to identify and prevent fraud
- Liaise with colleagues and external parties to promptly and effectively answer any payment related queries.
- Ensure service provided is to a high standard and make recommendations to improve and streamline processes and interactions.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the payments platform.
- Manage your time effectively to ensure all critical tasks are completed and deadlines achieved.
- Ensure timely completion of projects and goals in accordance with engagement and requirements.
- Be the point of contact for payment related queries
An Ideal Candidate will have:
- Understanding of reconciliation processes and statement reporting • Working knowledge of AML procedures
- Ability to be flexible, quickly learn new skills, and meet uncompromising quality requirements and production expectations while working closely with others in a team environment.
- Demonstrated competency with computers, including proficiency with all Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work independently; take initiative; and adapt to change
- Strong problem solving ability.
- Strong processing and analytic skills with the ability to analyse large amounts of data, decipher higher risk attributes, and handle appropriately.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Must be able to multi-task and thrive in a busy paced, high intensity, high demand and on time environment.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency by responding immediately to escalated issues and rapidly changing priorities.
- Must possess critical thinking, analytic and problem solving skills to be used in operational planning and evaluation.
- Ability to deal with highly confidential information in a professional manner.
- Be ambitious and motivated – as the company grows there will be opportunity for development
Desirable skills:
- A target-driven mindset with a strong interest in payments and commercial success.
- 3+ years in a Payments role in a Fintech environment preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence interacting over phone and email.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and working with data.
- A customer-first attitude with a passion for helping small businesses succeed.
Salary: $50,000 base + performance-based bonus
