Quality Technician
The Quality Technician is responsible for independently performing advanced inspections and audits of raw materials, in-process, and finished products to ensure strict compliance with quality standards and customer specifications. This role involves interpreting complex blueprints and engineering drawings, utilizing advanced measuring equipment such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), and contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and lead others in quality assurance activities within a manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do:
- Perform detailed dimensional and mechanical inspections of raw materials, in-process, and finished products using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring devices.
- Conduct visual inspections to identify defects and ensure adherence to engineering specifications and process requirements.
- Interpret and apply complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T standards to verify product conformity.
- Use precision and basic measurement/test equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM, optical comparators, hardness testers, height gauges, etc.) and document results accurately.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T to verify product conformity and inform inspection methods.
- Execute first-article inspections, part inspection plans, certificate of analysis reviews, and routine product/process audits.
- Identify, document, segregate, and facilitate disposition of non-conforming or defective material.
- Help develop and implement process controls, inspection frequencies, and audit requirements to improve product quality and support SPC.
- Participate in design reviews by providing input on inspection methods and quality requirements.
- Assist in developing and implementing process controls, inspection frequencies, and audit requirements to improve product quality.
- Conduct routine audits of products and processes to ensure compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Collect, record, and analyze quality data to support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Train, mentor, and lead less experienced quality personnel while working closely with cross‑functional teams (supervisors, engineers, production) to resolve issues.
- Maintain safety compliance and a clean, organized workspace; perform basic equipment checks.
- Be flexible by working overtime, cross-training, and adapting to new processes or technologies.

What You Need to Succeed:
Required:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of quality inspection or related manufacturing inspection role.
- Proficiency in advanced measurement tools including CMM, optical comparators, hardness testers, height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications.
- Familiarity with quality management systems.
- Experience conducting first article inspections, audits, and root cause analysis.
- Proficient computer literacy.
- Ability to visually inspect, measure, and utilize testing equipment effectively.
- Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or quality inspection requirements.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, forming, coating, and assembly.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
