The Role at a Glance
This position is responsible for performing highly skilled duties in one or more of the following trade areas: electrical, plumbing, building automation or heating and ventilation, and/or helping supervise the technicians that do. Provide support to the Facilities Manager in helping manage the daily requirements of the facilities.
What you'll be doing
- Supports and promotes change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Works independently delivering on routine but progressively more non-routine work, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines in a timely manner and meets deadlines appropriately.
- Makes routine and progressively more non-routine decisions independently, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Performs highly skilled tasks in accordance with national and local codes and standard trade practices.
- Shares a diverse range of knowledge and information and/or enables less experienced team members to perform their assignments.
- Performs a diverse range of tasks/transactions related to common programs and services by directly applying expanded knowledge obtained from the role in increasingly more complex situations.
- Performs advanced preventative maintenance activity and trouble shooting and shares knowledge with other technicians for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or building automation depending on area of expertise.
- Completes advanced tasks in capital projects for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or building automation depending on area of expertise.
- Leads and/or performs MAC (move/add/change) activity including installing appropriate electrical circuits, lighting and all data and voice communications lines.
- Completes projects for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building automation, or maintenance construction depending on area of expertise.
- Troubleshoots and makes necessary repairs for their assigned area(s) of responsibility in a timely manner. Promptly notifies management of safety issues or concerns.
- Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures. Remains current in profession and industry trends.
- Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by: - Making suggestions for improvement - Learning new skills, procedures and processes.
- Some overtime may be required to perform some work activities that must be done on off hours.
What we’re looking for
Must have:
- 5 - 10+ Years Experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building automation, or general maintenance
Nice to have:
- 8+ years of experience as a commercial or industry electrician with 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
- 3+ years of experience with data center wiring management, electrical switch gears, generators and UPS systems is required.
- North Carolina electrical license with current knowledge of electrical codes, methods, and tools that are used in the industry.
- Knowledge of lighting control systems, fire alarm systems, building automation controls and wiring, building access control and security system wiring.
- Ability to read / understand complex building and equipment drawings, review submittals and other contract documents.
- Ability conducts advanced break fix activity for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or building automation depending on area of expertise.
- Experience in creating plans and projects for the annual budget, both Capital and Expense.
