ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director, Commercial Analytics is responsible for providing excellent strategic, operational, and analytical leadership in the areas of business performance management, commercial analytics, business intelligence and data management, as one of the key leaders of the Commercial Strategy and Operations team. Reporting to the VP, Commercial Strategy Operations, the Director will craft an innovative vision for extending our analytical capabilities into the commercial arena to drive the business performance management process by providing process leadership and critical insights into overall business performance and forecasting, as well as key success metrics. This role will need to identify and understand business challenges and to enhance decision-making, and as a result, business performance. In addition, the Director will manage the analytics team and the development and execution of commercial analysis, fact- based reporting, and analytical models. This role must be a strong cross-functional partner with Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, Revenue Management, IT, Finance, and Operations, and is responsible for providing these functions with insights into commercial performance that can be used to improve results, increase transparency and optimize spend. WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provides vision, energy, and leadership to evolve S&S Commercial Performance Management and Analytics capabilities. Communicate vision to senior leadership and key stakeholders across the organization. Translate vision to an execution strategy that supports continued evolution in the way we address intelligence and data challenges.
- Responsible for driving the business performance management process and delivering appropriate data, tools and analysis to the commercial team, as needed, to understand and drive commercial performance.
- Identifies and maintains key commercial performance metrics and flags leadership when action is required. Works with team to perform root cause analysis and make actionable recommendations.
- Drives the development of new and refined business performance dashboards in Power BI, supporting all levels of the Commercial organization. Participates in the cross-functional development of shared Executive, Sales, Finance, Operations, Merchandising, and Marketing dashboards.
- Leads, mentors, and grows team of data and commercial analysts and managers.
- Guides team in the preparation of data and insights to support executive-level decision making and commercial leadership meetings.
- Conducts ad hoc analysis using various techniques, concepts and models.
- Provides best practices in performance management, business analysis, BI, and application of AI to commercial analytics and insights, taking into account learnings across broader CPG, apparel, and distribution categories.
- Partners with Commercial Strategy in developing the ongoing business planning process and commercial plans.
- Partners with Commercial Strategy and FP&A in the development and improvement of rolling, annual and long-term forecasts.
