This position provides direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning for the Division of Business Affairs. The Executive Director for Business Affairs will oversee all administrative management, project management, and supervision of the daily operations for the finance and administration division. This position will organize, track, and ensures accurate and timely processing of requests and actions of all direct reports to the Sr. Vice President Business Affairs. The Executive Director requires outstanding organizational, communication, and leadership skills and an ability to develop innovative solutions that allow the Division leadership and staff to achieve strategic goals, compliance, and execution of duties within the Division and campus as needed. This position will also be responsible for oversight in managing complex situations and myriads of divisions and campus-wide programming. The Executive Director of Operations will work closely with Division leadership and senior staff to strategize and develop policies, plans and systems that will allow the Division to run efficiently and effectively,
This position will resolve a varied range of problems consistent with an understanding of the mission, vision, role, and goals of the division and with a comprehensive understanding of administration/office management in accordance with management principles, applicable regulations, and university policies and procedures. Interprets, communicates, and implements policies and practices for both internal and external stakeholders. Establishes performance standards, conducts evaluations, and tracks multiple project plans across the division.
Works independently with broadly defined work objectives and limited review of overall results. Performs professional work that requires specialized knowledge and confidentiality in one or more fields of management/administration, finance, IT, facilities, auxiliary services, campus planning and space management, and procurement. With a solid understanding, use, and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, regulations, terminology, and applied bases in area of specialization across the division
This position must be able to handle complex, high-level multitasking with professionalism and efficiency. They must be able to handle highly confidential information and work professionally with faculty, staff, and students. They must work closely with executive staff, community leaders, community groups, board members, and key stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and oversight of division and matters related to business and financial management, including serving as a liaison with TAMUS business and fiscal officers and public and private organizations.
Monitor daily operations and develop standard internal policies and practices to increase efficiency within the Division. Develop and coordinate a tracking system for all division projects. Support the division by creating and overseeing project management plans, ensure visibility and coordination of all projects within the division. Negotiates contracts and documents. Communicates with regulatory officials, funding agencies and other governmental entities regarding issues related to the development process.
Work with the directors/AVPs within the division to collect program data and evaluation to track and measure progress and develop annual reports. Maintain effective communication within the Division between the staff and leadership on key priorities and events, and about campus and university efforts that may impact the Division.
Identify and pursue business development opportunities which may include: Public-Private Partnerships, Strategic Alliances and 'Best Value' Procurement. Direct business development initiatives in support of strategic priorities, goals and revenue enhancement.
Ensure strategic sourcing through competitive solicitation (request for information, request for proposal, and request for quotation), proposal evaluation and award recommendation.
Ensures compliance with regulations and implements Board of Regents’ policies. Performs other related duties as assigned.
