Collins Aerospace is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to work on site at the company’s location in Fulton, MD.
The ISSO will support classified computing environments onsite at our facility in Fulton, MD. The successful candidate will interface with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to ensure adherence with the NIST Special Publications, customer directives, and company policies as applicable,32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule, and DAAPM.
What You Will Do
- Conduct recurring Cybersecurity reviews on information systems in accordance with DoD Manuals, NIST Special Publications, customer directives, and company policies as applicable
- Assess and monitor system compliance, auditing, security plan development and deliver information systems security education and awareness.
- Investigate information system security violations and help prepare reports specifying corrective and preventative actions.
- Review and approve (within authority) configuration management requests.
- Conduct technical and administrative assessments.
- Integrate new cybersecurity processes, procedures, and tools.
- Support the creation, review and update of cybersecurity documentation and other technical writing.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Prior ISSM/ISSO or alternate ISSM/ISSO experience in a classified environment
- DoDD 8570/8140 IAM Level 2 professional certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISSM, etc.)
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
- Active and transferable U.S. government DoD issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience building, deploying, supporting, and configuring wide and local area networks, including servers, workstations, routers, switches, firewalls, operating systems (Linux or Windows) and network devices (Routers and Switches).
- Experience with audit reviews such as: physical security, network and application, password administration, file access privileges, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of NIST special publications, CNSS policies, and instructions.
- Experience supporting various system configurations (Stand Alone, Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, Government, and Contractor connections)
- Experience with various information system security assessment/hardening tools - SCAP Compliance Checker, STIG Viewer, Nessus, etc.
