What You’ll Work On 

This position's objective is to give the supervisor trainee the skills and knowledge necessary to supervise a plant crew. The trainee will learn the Abbott policies relating to Personnel, company goals, practices and proper procedures to achieve the operation's objectives. Coordinate activities for the shift team to ensure delivery of all key performance metrics including those in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Quality, Finance, Productivity and People. Lead efforts required in delivering quality and compliance performance for the shift/ line of accountability. Initiate, manage, and make decisions which impact product quality with assistance from a Supervisor or Manager. Gain exposure to department budgets related to Headcount, Overtime, and direct expenses for a shift and/or line. Understand the drivers and develop and execute plans around improvement of performance and quality metrics with support from the direct manager. Understand some of the key performance indicators, driving and executing plans for improvement through team engagement. Drive a culture of engagement through the team and department. Directly supervises team and participates in staffing activities. Develop all line personnel by securing appropriate training, providing mentoring and assigning progressively challenging stretch responsibilities within the scope of the team and department accountabilities.
