Description
Chapman University seeks applications for Fall 2025 for Part-time Italian Studies Lecturer in the Department of World Languages and Cultures within Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. The first day of instruction is August 25, 2025.

Responsibilities:
- Teach one or two Italian courses per semester as needed, hold office hours, and support college policies and procedures.
- Faculty are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics:

- Commitment to development and assessment of student learning.
- Use of technology and innovative approaches to enhance teaching and learning.
- Willingness to implement inclusive pedagogies to support a diverse population of learners inside and outside the classroom.
- Ability to work in a participatory and collegial setting.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- M.A. or Laurea in Italian Studies, pedagogy, second language acquisition or related field.
- Demonstrate ability to teach beginning and intermediate-level Italian language courses face to face.
- Native or near-native command of both Italian and English
- Minimum two years of teaching experience at the higher education level
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to effectively integrate instructional technology into the classroom to enhance student learning. Knowledge of Canvas, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and other relevant software is required.
