This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As an eMachine Engineer for JD Electronic Solutions located in Cary, NC OR Dubuque, IA OR Fargo, ND, you will:
- Contribute to the Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) of eMachines, including creating PV&V plans and activities in VISION (an internal PV&V project management tool), tracking activities in VISION, creating work requests, attending/conducting tests, and reporting out Activity Completion Rating (ACR) to leadership.
- Work collaboratively with both internal and external customers and stakeholders ensuring cohesive and seamless support to define, execute and deliver the PV&V plan and activities for eMachines using design analysis, simulation, lab tests, field tests, etc. to ensure the design meets the application requirements for safety, performance, quality, reliability and cost.
- Contribute to the interpretation and implementation of standards, specifications and regulations relative to electric machines as they apply to the product.
- Deliver small-scale or medium-scale projects while working within an established program management plan.
- Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
- Create and maintain complex technical and/or user documentation to a high standard and back up files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur.

What Skills You Need
- 2 years' experience with the VISION system creating activities, PV&V plans, work requests, ACR charts, and scheduling activities.
- 2 years' experience working with rotating components, electric machine design, test, or implementation.
- Knowledge of data acquisition equipment and instrumentation such as accelerometers, thermistors, current transducers and vector network analyzers.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Knowledge of related electric drive components (inverters, connectors, energy storage, etc.).
- Knowledge in analytical details of electric machine types and design (continuous and peak load evaluation, electromagnetics, bearings, insulating materials, cooling and manufacturability).
- Experience in working across groups with co-workers to share knowledge and work toward common goals.
- Experience with performing component level electrical and environmental industry testing (i.e. JDQ, ISO, IEC, SAE, EMC, dust, salt, cleaning, temperature/humidity, vibration/shock, etc.)
- Knowledge of accelerated test methods and reliability principles and life calculations.
- Knowledge of Agricultural and Off-Highway machinery.
- Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on testing, evaluating and improving engineering outcomes.
