What you will do

In this vital role you will support the Results Delivery Office and Amgen leadership by demonstrating financial and strategic thinking to characterize business performance across the enterprise, evaluate potential transformation opportunities, and enable step change in business outcomes. The ideal candidate will use their financial and analytical foresight to challenge the status quo, drive continuous improvement, and embed digital ways of working into our end-to-end processes.

The role will support large transformation initiatives to model financials, resources, and process information to measure and improve enterprise business performance and develop robust business cases.

Ultimately, this role will support data-driven decision making, building a foundational capability to provide end-to-end insight into business process performance and improvements.

Objectives of this Role

• Support large transformation and change initiatives to develop and maintain financial and non-financial baseline for programs and initiatives, identifying trends and opportunities for transformation by analyzing complex data sets
• Develop complex financial models that bring together financial information, resource information and process information to identify value creation opportunities
• Analyze data to answer key questions from senior leaders with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating opportunities of holistic value delivery

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop complex financial models that integrate financial and resource data to develop business cases and strategic recommendations
• Lead cross functional opportunity analyses from beginning to end from building relationships with key business leaders to collecting and analyzing data, as well as summarizing and presenting key insights in support of decision making
• Influence transformative thinking and decisions with analytical insights and an ability to build collaborative relationships
• Interact with various finance and resource planning groups across Amgen to understand impact to budget/long range plans
• Develop executive communications and present analysis and insights to Amgen’s senior leadership

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

Or

Master’s degree and 2 years of data science, business, statistics, data mining, applied mathematics, business analytics, engineering, computer science or related field experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of data science, business, statistics, data mining, applied mathematics, business analytics, engineering, computer science or related field experience

Or

Associates degree and 8 years of data science, business, statistics, data mining, applied mathematics, business analytics, engineering, computer science or related field experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 10 years of data science, business, statistics, data mining, applied mathematics, business analytics, engineering, computer science or related field experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in data science, business, sciences statistics, data mining, applied mathematics, business analytics, engineering, computer science or related field (MBA Preferred)
• 4 years of relevant experience in management consulting or financial planning & analysis
• Mastery of complex financial modeling (Excel), knowledge on workflow/model automation
• Understanding of / experience in the Bio-Pharmaceutical industry
• Critical thinking: Ability to tackle complex and ambiguous problems, provide clarity of thought, and deliver results
• Teamwork: Builds strong relationships across the network, can effectively collaborate with cross functional teams and a diverse set of partners
