Job Description:

What’s the role?

The Commercial Operation Analyst will interact and work collaboratively with Commercial Operators, Terminal staff, HC Accounting & Reconciliation Team (back-office), Demand Coordinator, Chanel Optimizer, potential with Deal Makers and BD on a constant basis, must have an energetic can-do attitude, so that they can meet deadlines and handle sensitive matters.

The Commercial Operation Analyst will interact with several systems and tools used in the T&S environment to keep our business continuity, record keeping, compliance, helping PnL exposure-risk monitor keeping the data updated and maintain a reliable performance, some of these tools are ENDUR, and Pipeline systems.

Periodically assigned special projects in the Supply and Products arena, particularly where cooperative interaction between logistic, supply, BD, trading, scheduling, and accounting is deemed necessary.

Modes of transport include mainly pipeline, rail, trucks and marine (barges or vessels), the mode of transport is highly dependent of the region and supply strategy. Currently these are the products that the team handle: Mogas, Distillates and Jet.

The source of volume includes “Off Take” agreements within the US refineries network, Trading volume (e.g., via pipeline or rail), exchange locations or in-tank transfer. We use SHELL Equity Terminals and Outside Supply Points (OSP), where the Fuel is stored and lifted via rack loading facilities.

All above having and practicing our principles of HSSE & Compliance, Operational mindset, Commercial mindset, and Learner mindset to ensure and support the operation is managed in a safe, reliable, and compliant manner from end to end.

The T&S business has grown substantially and is well positioned to maintain its leading position keeping a competitive and well-balanced competence team.

Accountabilities

Be recognized as a reliable Commercial Operations Analyst, Team player, Collaborative, managing effective communication with our internal and external stakeholders, with an upright understanding of the business, continually seeking for operational excellence (best practices), commercial value and customer centricity.

The successful applicant will work across Supply Commercial Ops desks-regions with the following responsibilities focused on the Supply business continuity of the business and support to T&S Commercial Operators (no limited to):

  • Build & maintain effective relationships with internal & external counterparties.
  • Assist with changing old Parcel Strategy in ENDUR for new Orion Strategy
  • Pipeline receipt Tickets
  • Nomination creation
  • Update Rack lifting
  • Inventory Report
  • Pipeline to Sale and/or Purchases
  • Pipeline to Interconnect
  • Transferring forecast volume within T4 into ENDUR
  • Assist with clearing credit/redlines.
  • Adding/deleting excess lines within ENDUR
  • Assist with Revalidating transfers in ENDUR
  • ENDUR Error Resolution
  • Enter storage provisions, remove PnL “offsets.”
  • Deal Entry
  • Variable Costs Reconciliation
  • Manual Price True ups if needed.
  • Interbook/Regrade/Loss-Gain contract entry.
  • Help to Resolve PnL and exposure issues.
  • Liaise between HCDM, Analyst, Traders, Operations, Accounting, and contracts.
  • Assist on special projects.
  • Support Sales Operating Process (Step 1 to Step 4)
  • Enabler HSSE & Compliance SHELL culture and values in any action of the business.
  • Support supply chain developments and logistics ensuring optimal deal execution.

What we need from you

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred engineer, supply chain, business administration, logistics, economics).
  • Supply, Trading, Contracts, Logistic and Operations Coordination, or equivalent role for at least 4 years.
  • Successful candidate must have strong knowledge of Shell Trading systems and associated systems including ENDUR
  • Strong interpersonal and team building capabilities.
  • Proficiency for detail
