About Beaumont
With a population of more than 118,000, Beaumont ,Texas, is located in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, on the Neches River, about 85 miles east of Houston, the nation's fourth largest city. Beaumont has been a home to the oil industry from the days of the Spindletop oil boom until today, and along with nearby Port Arthur and Orange, is part of the Golden Triangle industrial area on the Texas Gulf Coast. What role you will play in our team
The Environmental Air Permitting Advisor will work within the Air Permitting & Programs Section of the Environmental Department and will support the ExxonMobil’s Beaumont Refinery, Beaumont Chemical Plant, and the Beaumont Polyethylene Plant. This position supports each manufacturing site by performing Environmental reviews of Management of Change (MOC) requests, completing regulatory analyses and determining permitting and compliance applicability, developing and maintaining new/existing regulatory permitting and compliance systems and tools, and mentoring other Environmental team members. The position will keep up-to-date with assigned Environmental regulations, and support the site and headquarters Advocacy staff to drive reasonable rulemaking and interpretations.
What you will do
- Review of physical and operational changes utilizing established best practices to ensure compliance and determine environmental regulatory impacts, and secure necessary New Source Review authorizations
- Prepare and submit Texas Permit by Rule Registration, Permit Alteration and Permit Amendment Packages, including PSD Applications
- Negotiate mutually agreeable permit conditions with operating teams, engineering teams, and regulatory agencies
- Develop new and maintain and improve existing regulatory compliance systems and tools to drive improved compliance performance and enable departmental efficiencies
- Support Environmental on-call rotation by providing 24/7 support to manufacturing organizations during assigned weeks
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring for other Environmental team members
- Provide compliance support to manufacturing sites, including analysis of air, water, or waste regulations and applicability determinations
- Develop Compliance Plans to ensure compliance with new or revised regulations and permits
- Participate in internal and external regulatory compliance assessments
