Job Description
The Special Projects for Community Impact supports the Coordinator of Student Engagement Outreach in implementing civic learning, democratic engagement, and inclusion-focused initiatives through the Center for Student Engagement. This student role will assist with programs such as service days, volunteer fairs, CLDE recognition awards, and non-partisan democratic engagement activities. The assistant will help manage logistics, outreach, and data tracking for civic learning opportunities and work closely with community partners, student organizations, and university departments to promote inclusive and impactful engagement.
Responsibilities
Assist in planning and executing civic engagement events including service days, volunteer fairs, and CLDE recognition programs
Support outreach and logistics for non-partisan democratic engagement activities such as voter registration, education, and participation initiatives
Help manage and update GivePulse volunteer platform for tracking student involvement and co-curricular transcripts
Assist with organizing campus-wide dialogues and deliberative conversations on social and civic issues
Support the development of educational materials and facilitator trainings for civic learning programs
Participate in outreach efforts for disaster relief and community service initiatives
Attend weekly one-on-one meetings with supervisor and team check-ins
Assist with clerical tasks such as room bookings, email communications, and event setup
Participate in Student Engagement meetings and trainings
Perform other duties as assigned

Comfortable speaking with diverse groups of people
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or interest in civic engagement, democratic participation, or community organizing
Experience with event planning, multitasking, and customer service
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Schedule
15-20 hours/week during Fall and Spring semesters
Compensation
$12.25/hr
