Job Description Summary
MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is an entity within the Medical University of South Carolina(MUSC) that provides healthcare to patients within the rural health network throughout the state of South Carolina.
This position provides administrative support in various functions to an individual, team, department, or other group in an organization within a secure correctional facility, including assisting with tasks that involve direct contact with inmates/detainees at medical service windows or in designated secure areas.

Job Description
Provides administrative support in various functions to an individual, team, department, or other group in an organization. Collects, reviews, and analyzes data, and prepares reports, charts, budgets, and other presentation materials. Responds to or routes routine inquiries from external or internal sources with standard correspondence or other messaging. Schedules and coordinates meetings, travel, and other group activities. Has basic word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics software skills.
Correctional-specific responsibilities include:
• Interacting professionally and safely with inmates/detainees at designated medical access points.
• Following all facility security procedures, including identification protocols, restricted-item rules, and movement procedures.
• Handling sensitive and confidential inmate medical information in compliance with correctional privacy and security requirements.
• Coordinating with correctional officers for inmate movement to and from medical services.
• Maintaining situational awareness in a secure environment and immediately reporting concerns per facility guidelines.

Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force. Examples include: To transfer a 100 lb. patient that cannot assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force are needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force are required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand.
