The People Analytics team at Expedia Group is a rapidly growing team that uses data to understand our organization’s health and to define and shape the Expedian employee’s experience. Core to this mission is our ability to develop and deploy scalable analytics solutions that embed seamlessly into the day-to-day of our employees. We are searching for a leader in people analytics to be our Sr. Manager of People Data Management, who will strengthen data foundations using sophisticated data architecture techniques, and lead the productization of data and analytics solutions that we need to deliver people insights at scale through CI/CD frameworks. In this role you will lead the development data integrity mechanisms, including the architecting of end-to-end data flow, optimizing integration between source systems and the People Data Platform, increasing data documentation and maximiing code efficiencies & storage. You will engage in key partnerships with our People Tech, product management, engineering, Enterprise Data & Analytics platform, and Governance teams to create and implement a longer-term people data and analytics technical strategy that enables the development of a world-class people analytics ecosystem. You will be responsible for the gathering and prioritization of business requirements and enabling a world-class team that partners with data scientists and analysts in the development and deployment of scalable solutions.
 

What you'll do:

  • Drive implementation of data quality solutions, overseeing data profiling, data quality monitoring and data remediation services. Focus on enhancing operational efficiencies to support trust in people data.

  • You will bridge the gap between technical data teams and business stakeholders, driving the development of data products that provide actionable insights and value to our customers.

  • Cultivate an in-depth understanding of key users across the corporate functions, people and data analytics domains. Innovate solutions that directly address user challenges, prioritizing initiatives with widespread impact.

  • Understand and analyze diverse needs from our customers, think strategically, and lead with data-driven decisions.

  • Provide guidance to Data Science teams and lead the People Data Engineering team.

  • Work with the Data Stewards and the People Analytics Product Team to translate and determine technical requirements for the Data Quality suite of applications.

  • Lead data engineers to determine progress against Data Quality Suite updates, provide technical feedback on tasks and assist testing updates to ensure they meet acceptance criteria.

  • Demonstrate expertise in people data structures, identifying structural deficiencies or opportunities for enhanced delivery and report potential data quality issues.

Who you are:

  • 6-8 years of experience in a product role, leading and scaling products with significant strategic scope and complexity

  • Experience in supporting an effective enterprise data quality strategy, applying foundational data management principles, to analyze data, and identify bottlenecks, design flaws, and surface opportunities for data optimization

  • Technical expertise in working on databases, schema design, analytics, BI, or data-oriented services products, demonstrating a strong understanding of software systems, solutions, and technical architecture

  • Leadership: You have a track record of fostering collaboration with other product teams while overseeing the work of groups of engineers.

  • User-focused design: You have a keen eye for design and a passion for creating consumer-grade products that modernize and enhance financial operations experiences, with a focus on data/analytics/reporting/BI.

  • Fast pace: You’re a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels in navigating ambiguity, and is driven to make a meaningful impact.
