We are seeking an engineering intern for our GigaSMART team. The candidate will be working as part of a dynamic team and be responsible for designing and implementing security-related technologies. The candidate will work with cross-functional groups to contribute to software architecture and design. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a very fast-paced environment. Summer Internship Only: This internship is a short-term, 3-month position for Summer 2025 with no plans for full-time conversion upon completion. It is best suited for students rising into their senior years looking to gain hands-on industry experience during the summer. The internship will follow a hybrid work model based out of Gigamon’s headquarters in Santa Clara, California. What you’ll do:
- Help develop innovative network security solutions to expand Gigamon’s product portfolio.
- Design and develop software for high-performance network security and observability solutions.
- Optimize and improve packet processing pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with Gigamon’s networking and security experts.
- Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering or Computer Science program with a strong academic record.
- Proficient in C/C++ programming.
- Experienced in multi-threading and systems programming.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, and TLS.
- Familiar with operating system concepts.
- Bonus: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and eBPF technologies.
- Analytical and strong problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Eager to learn, self-motivated, and collaborative.
- Curious and detail-oriented with a passion for building innovative solutions.
