(SA-TECH) is a progressive and well-established Department of Defense (DoD) contractor specializing in Range operations and maintenance (O&M); weapons testing; facilities management; aerial, ground and seaborne targets O&M; technical, logistics and other engineering support; systems integration; electronics and communications maintenance services; and a growing cybersecurity business. We are currently looking to hire an experienced Senior Proposal Writer for a remote position assigned to our corporate headquarters in Largo, MD.
The Senior Proposal Writer requires an experienced professional with demonstrated success in organizing and developing original writing for all aspects of the proposal phase, including conducting in-depth market research, and analyzing Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs). The Senior Proposal Writer will develop material for proposal sections, including Past Performance, Corporate Experience, Management, and Technical sections. This role will involve close collaboration with the executive team to ensure a strategic and methodical approach to winning federal contracts. Must be an effective communicator and strategist who can bring knowledge and experience in responding to the needs and objectives of our DoD customers from prior positions in proposal development. The individual needs to be a motivated self-starter with the ability to gain internal commitments and support.
A successful candidate must exhibit the following key qualities and abilities:
- Able to conceptualize a vision for winning, develop a capture plan that implements the vision, and adjust the vision as the procurement unfolds.
- Manage all Capture activities and the Capture team to achieve the company’s strategic vision.
- Must possess strong Capture expertise, proven and respected industry leadership, and confidence in abilities to plan and execute a winning Capture effort.
- Able to lead a diverse and dispersed team during intense proposal schedules.
- Able to understand Government customers’ needs and objectives as related to those who will evaluate the proposal, strong written and verbal skills to effectively communicate the capture plan and status across the capture team and to management, patience, and interpersonal skills to achieve effective progress, anticipate problems, and keep Capture activities moving forward.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Identify, research, and qualify potential teaming partners, subcontractors and/or consultants that add value to the team.
- Serve as an advocate of the company in the marketplace and with customers.
Primary responsibilities of the Capture Manager are:
- Able to research topics using internal and external tools, analyze Government documents (RFPs, SOWs, PWSs, SOOs, and Attachments) to determine an effective and concise response, develop outlines and content to communicate company strategy and vision, adjust the content as the procurement unfolds, participate in all color reviews, and revise sections as needed.
- Respected leadership, strong proposal development experience, strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to understand Government customers’ needs and objectives as related to those who will evaluate the proposal.
- Strong written and verbal skills to effectively communicate, patience, and people-skills to achieve effective progress, anticipate problems, and keep proposal activities moving forward.
- Exceptional time-management skills are a must-have.
Work Conditions:
- Fast-paced Corporate Environment working with all levels within the company.
- Most work accomplished in an office environment utilizing phone and desktop computer and remote collaboration and communication tools (primarily Microsoft products).
- The position will include 80% sitting, 5% reaching, 5% lifting 5% walking & 5% standing.
- Normal work hours are Monday thru Friday however must be able to work extra hours/weekends when needed.
