About this role

 

This role will establish and implement the Safety & Sustainability Operations Support Network (OSN) including systems, processes and capacity & capability to provide leadership with data and analysis for compliance and decision making.  This is a global leadership role that draws on expertise as a strategic thinker, people manager, project and change manager, communicator, influencer, technical subject matter expert, problem solver, and facilitator.
 

Your role will consist of

Growth/Governance

•  Lead Safety and Sustainability (S&S) Operations Support Network (OSN) team through establishment phase, defining systems and processes to align with the S&S Governance and Analytics strategy and regulatory obligations.
•  Develop maturity in capability and capacity to fully implement all identified future services.      
•  Develop and implement governance systems and processes for the S&S OSN team and its work, including the interactions and processes for Information Technology’s (IT’s) S&S Digital Squad and other key stakeholders working with the S&S OSN including establishing priorities. 
•  Direct the S&S OSN’s approach for analysis (trending, tracking and forecasting) across data sources, including predictive analysis, that can be used to inform the S&S team and Newmont operational and functional leadership for risk identification, decision making and problem solving.
•  Provide leadership and engagement expertise to identify, support and sustain tangible levels of S&S conformance and performance through data and technology-based improvement projects, in partnership with sites, Business Units and Enterprise teams.
•  Direct the development of a detailed and evolving standardized suite of internal and external reports and dashboards to measure against targets, thresholds and limits, and provide actionable insights, enabling systematic improvements, and ultimately risk reduction, in S&S-related activities and behaviors.
•  Identify opportunities for technology or other improvements to S&S-related data collection and management through the business, including for data control systems and related efficiencies. 
•  Set data control expectations for users / suppliers of S&S-related data

 

Safety & Sustainability     

•  Proactive leadership supporting a global Newmont culture of safety and health including maintaining a high focus on safety within the S&S function, and actively promoting Newmont’s health and safety expectations.

 

People

•  People Leadership role leading a global team of high performing, diverse service teams, working remote 
•  Build OSN, managing the recruitment of internal staff, third party support resources, and project resources.
•  Develop individual and team effectiveness through providing clear performance expectations and feedback, coaching and challenging employees to grow within their roles.
