POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Replenishment Ordering plays a critical role in ensuring that our retail stores and e-commerce channels are consistently stocked with the right products to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory investment. This leader will drive end-to-end replenishment strategy, manage seasonal and core inventory flow, and build collaborative partnerships across Merchandising, Planning, Logistics, and Store Operations. Success in this role will directly impact sales, margin, and customer satisfaction across all channels.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Replenishment Strategy & Execution
Develop and execute a data-driven replenishment strategy that supports sales growth, reduces out-of-stocks, and improves inventory turns
Own the item lifecycle from launch through end-of-life replenishment decisions, collaborating closely with Planning and Merchandising.
Lead the management of replenishment parameters including lead times, safety stock, reorder points, and order cycles.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
Lead, coach, and develop a team of analysts responsible for executing daily ordering and inventory flow.
Create and refine processes and tools that support scalable and accurate replenishment practices.
Champion automation, system enhancements, and reporting improvements in collaboration with IT and business partners.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Store Operations, and E-commerce teams to align on assortment strategies and promotional forecasts.
Collaborate with Logistics and Distribution Centers to ensure smooth product flow and in-stock execution at the store and DC level.
Engage with vendors and suppliers to ensure reliability, visibility, and lead time accuracy.
Forecasting & Analytics
Use historical trends, sales forecasts, promotional calendars, and market inputs to inform replenishment decisions.
Analyze replenishment performance data to drive continuous improvement and correct stock imbalances across channels.
Monitor KPIs such as in-stock rate, inventory turnover, weeks of supply, order fill rate, and forecast accuracy.
Retail-Specific Initiatives
Support seasonal product flows and high-volume promotional events (e.g., Black Friday, Back to School).
Adjust replenishment strategies by store cluster, region, and sales performance to optimize local assortments and shelf availability.
Drive omnichannel initiatives, ensuring inventory availability across both physical stores and digital fulfillment
