Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Director of HR Operations to lead and optimize our HR infrastructure. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations, including HRIS management, policy development, compliance, organizational design, and the delivery of white-glove, best-in-class HR services. The ideal candidate will be a process-driven leader with a passion for operational excellence, employee experience, and scalable, compliant HR practices. This position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Key Responsibilities

HRIS & Technology Management

  • Lead the implementation, and optimization of the HRIS platform and related systems.

  • Ensure data integrity, security, and reporting accuracy across all HR systems.

  • Partner with IT and vendors to evaluate and implement tools that enhance the employee experience.

Policy, Compliance & Governance

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks in alignment with legal requirements and company values.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for audits and legal inquiries related to HR operations.

Organizational Design & Development

  • Own and evolve the company’s job architecture, including job leveling, titling, and compensation alignment.

  • Design and implement scalable career pathing frameworks that support employee growth and internal mobility.

  • Partner with business leaders and HRBPs to align organizational structures with strategic goals.

  • Lead change management initiatives that support organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.

Operational Excellence

  • Design and continuously improve scalable HR processes that support the full employee lifecycle.

  • Establish and monitor key HR metrics and dashboards to drive data-informed decisions.

  • Lead HR process documentation and knowledge management initiatives.

  • Service Delivery & Employee Experience

  • Champion a “white glove” service approach to HR support, ensuring timely, empathetic, and high-quality service to employees and managers.

  • Build a high-performing HR operations infrastructure focused on service excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Act as a culture ambassador, reinforcing “how we work” through operational practices and employee touchpoints.

Strategic Leadership

  • Collaborate with senior HR and business leaders to align HR operations with organizational goals.

  • Drive cross-functional initiatives that enhance the employee experience and operational efficiency.

  • Stay current on HR trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure best-in-class practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a role focused on HR operations.

  • Proven experience managing HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, UKG, ADP)

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance, and organizational design principles.

  • Demonstrated success in building job architecture and career frameworks.

  • Exceptional project management, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead with empathy, integrity, and a service-first mindset.
