The Position
The Director, Marketing Operations will serve as a key member of the US Commercial Strategy & Operations Team within a dynamic Women’s health focused pharmaceutical organization. Within the US Commercial business, this role will be responsible for US Promotion Review Committee or “PRC” Operations and Governance, US Launch Excellence, US Commercial Annual Planning, and US Marketing Innovation and Acceleration. The Director will be charged with optimizing ways of working, enhancing launch readiness, driving best-in-class compliance and review processes, and spearheading marketing-related innovation initiatives to accelerate business growth and commercial impact.
The Director, Marketing Operations will report to the Executive Director and Head, US Commercial Strategy and Operations. The Marketing Operations team will report directly into the Director, Marketing Operations.
Responsibilities
Promotion Review Committee (PRC) Operations and Governance
Lead and oversee PRC processes for US marketing materials, ensuring best-in-class governance, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Manage the development and maintenance of SOPs, standards, training, and communication frameworks to ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration among Medical, Legal, Regulatory, and Commercial teams.
Manage evolving stakeholder support and ways of working, in cooperation with US Marketing teams and the centralized US Commercial Hub (“Hive”).
US Launch Excellence
Own the US Launch Excellence offering, including the capability scope, design, and evolution to meet changing business needs.
Deploy and oversee teams driving the planning and execution of US product launches, ensuring cross-functional alignment, resource allocation, and operational excellence from pre-launch through post-launch phases.
Act as direct escalation point for launch risks and drive mitigation strategies to ensure launch goals are achieved on time and on budget.
US Commercial Annual Planning
Oversee the team leading annual marketing planning processes, guiding objective setting, resource prioritization, and integrated commercial plan development.
Collaborate with the US Leadership Team and Finance to forecast spend, identify efficiencies, and align investment with strategic imperatives.
Develop tracking and reporting mechanisms for transparency, accountability, and agile plan adjustments.
US Marketing Commercial Innovation and Acceleration
Lead a team to champion innovation in marketing approaches, technologies, and operational models.
Lead identification and evaluation of new tools, technologies, and processes to accelerate go-to-market strategies and impact.
Partner cross-functionally to implement business-prioritized tools, processes, and capabilities aimed at experimentation and improvement.
Marketing Operations Strategy & Leadership
Set the strategic direction and manage the achievement of strategic objectives for in-scope marketing operations functions.
Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing operations team.
Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively update Marketing Operations processes and guidelines.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and/or MBA highly preferred.
Minimum ten years’ progressive experience in pharmaceutical marketing operations, with deep expertise in MLR/PRC processes, launch readiness, and commercial planning is preferred.
Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a highly regulated environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting business priorities and translate to executional process.
Exceptional project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Deep understanding of US pharma regulatory and compliance landscape.
Experience managing or influencing teams in a matrixed organization.
