The technology is currently being used for research applications in several therapeutic areas, including oncology, neurology, cardiology, inflammation and infectious disease.
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Director, IT Project Management Office (PMO). This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in IT leadership, extensive project management expertise, and the ability to drive transformative initiatives. The Director of IT PMO will be responsible for leading and overseeing the IT project management function, ensuring the successful delivery of projects in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Additionally, this role involves a focus on transformation initiatives, driving change, and ensuring the organization’s ability to adapt and innovate in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
What You’ll Do:
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Work closely with the CIO to develop and execute the IT department’s strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals
- Develop and execute the IT PMO strategy in alignment with organizational objectives considering financial implications and business impact.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the IT department and project management team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, accountability, and innovation
- Manage and mentor the IT PMO team, ensuring optimal performance and professional development and a focus on achieving business outcomes.
- Project Portfolio Management:
- Oversee the management of the IT project portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews to prioritize projects, allocate resources effectively, and mitigate risks.
- Implement best practices for project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and ensure IT initiatives are aligned with organizational needs
- Collaborate with, and present to, key stakeholders
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels to provide regular project updates and address concerns.
- Resource Management:
- Manage and optimize resources, including project managers, business analysts, and support staff, to ensure efficient project delivery
- Manage resources efficiently, including budget oversight, to support the successful execution of IT initiatives.
- Collaborate with the CIO and other department heads to allocate resources effectively across projects and strategic initiatives
- Identify and address resource constraints and make recommendations for resource allocation based on project priorities.
- Governance and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain governance processes to ensure compliance with industry regulations, security standards, and organizational policies
- Establish and enforce project management standards, methodologies, and governance processes.
- Technology Roadmap:
- Work closely with the CIO to contribute to the development and execution of the organization’s technology roadmap.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to make informed recommendations for technology investments.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT projects and initiatives, ensuring proactive measures are in place to address potential challenges
- Implement effective risk management practices to safeguard the integrity and success of IT programs, minimize project disruptions, and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the IT PMO and broader IT department, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Foster a learning environment to promote the professional development of project management staff.
