#LI-HybridNovartis has an incredible opportunity for a talented individual to join our team as a Director, Innovation Lab – Emerging Marketing Solutions (EMS) The Director, Innovation Lab –Emerging Marketing Solutions (EMS) sits within the US Innovation Lab (iLab), part of the Marketing Technology Product Management team. In this role, you will join a highly innovative and intrapreneurial group with a focus on accelerating emerging marketing solutions Use Cases in the US. With a deep expertise in marketing tech, including AI, you will help shape our EMS strategy and lead the experimentation of innovative AI-driven and emerging tech products and services aligned to Novartis US Objectives. This position is based is East Hanover, NJ and will not have the ability to be located remotely. Please note that this role would not provide relocation and only local candidates will be considered. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require up to 25% travel.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Coordination
- Own Product/Program Management of emerging marketing solutions pursuits, including agentic marketing and content flows and customer-centric, customer-focused solutions, employing the Evidence-based, Data-driven Innovation Model and Innovation Framework to inform use case decision-making, prioritize efforts, and execute the product roadmap via Agile methodology, including resource planning, funding, and use case prioritization
- Manage the execution of emerging marketing POCs/MVPs utilizing your knowledge of agentic framework and emerging tech, identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks and dependencies and collaborating with leaders across the enterprise to establish plans, product roadmaps, and approaches aligned to IMUS strategy and objectives to deliver results
- Oversee the lifecycle of POCs/MVPs, from discovery, to development, to launch, to scale, validating or invalidating hypotheses and iterating to achieve business objectives
- Be the iLab resident expert and a recognized expert in new and emerging marketing technologies, including agentic framework and its application to marketing solutioning, and provide thought leadership and iLab POV, accelerating capabilities and associate proficiency
Leadership & Execution
- Lead multi-functional, multi-disciplinary teams of functional experts and external partners to co-develop and experiment potential solutions rooted in evidence-based hypotheses testing, using validated instruments, and data-driven analysis and ROI projections
- Establish clear business case, KPIs, scope, estimate, resources, staffing, roles, and responsibilities and communicate vision to gain buy-in and inspire the team to relentlessly pursue objectives
Monitoring & Reporting:
- Maintain program/ project program governance (Steering Committees, monthly business updates, monthly financial reporting, etc.)
- Ensure team reporting consistency across multiple SharePoint and MS Teams sites ensuring documents are catalogued, easy to find, and up to date. And ensure accurate minutes of meetings including key decisions, next steps, accountabilities, and timelines are timely published and maintained.
- Ensure project / program insights, policies, playbooks, user handbooks are published and shared to contribute to continuous improvement and establishment of Innovation Lab templates that will accelerate experimentation and enable brand partners and other stakeholders to incorporate appropriate key learnings into brand strategy and tactics
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Marketing Technology, Information Technology, Data Science or a related field
- Experience working with commercial teams creating solutions with GenAI and emerging technology
- Minimum of 10 years of Innovation Management, including with Big Tech, with a focus on measurable commercial application
- Minimum 8 years of Product Management, Strategy, MarTech, Innovation, or consulting role
- Deep demonstrated passion for innovation with intrapreneurial behaviors such as strategic thinking and problem-solving to drive change management necessary for enabling high impact solutions
- Successful track record in driving disruptive thinking, leading ideation, and meeting business objectives
- Experience leading multiple product development cycles from concept to scale
- Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives
