Position Overview:
As the HR lead for our Fulfillment Centers, you will oversee all people-related matters at our distribution centers (Dream Fulfillment Centers) in Secaucus, NJ, and Arlington, TX.
You will collaborate with Senior Management and People Leadership to develop and implement HR programs that align with business objectives, enhance organizational and employee effectiveness, and translate into a sustainable HR agenda that supports growth. You will lead a team of HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and HR administrators across the network while closely collaborating with the corporate People team to ensure consistency and alignment on policy and practice. As a key leader within our broader People Team, you will also be able to lead key initiatives to drive impact across the organization in policy, practice, and culture.
This role is on-site, 5 days a week, based in our Secaucus, NJ, distribution center. There will be expected regular travel to our Texas distribution center and periodic travel to our Brooklyn, NY, office.
What You’ll Do:
- Maintain and operationalize all HR systems and processes in our Fulfillment Centers- including but not limited to performance management, employee relations, workforce and talent planning, leadership training & development, compensation and benefits, performance management, communication, and diversity initiatives.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of HRBPs, HR Coordinators, and Administrators.
- Lead key initiatives positively impacting Rent the Runway’s broader culture and supporting People Team goals.
- Serve as a “center of excellence” and alignment for our two fulfillment centers.
- Oversee complex employee relations issues with professionalism and integrity in close partnership with the legal and business teams.
- Serve as a thought partner and decision-maker with Site Leadership and People Operations teams on labor planning, policies, compensation and benefits, operational process improvements, safety, legal, and compliance.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and support identifying, attracting, and retaining the best talent in the market.
- Advise leaders on legal and regulatory compliance, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, OSHA, and Safety regulations.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to enhance performance management across all levels of the organization.
- Partner with operations leadership to develop engagement action plans based on Employee Engagement Survey results in alignment with company goals
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance; partner closely with the legal and finance teams.
About You:
- BA/BS degree with over 8 years of management experience in Human Resources, including demonstrable experience in leading a team.
- HR leadership experience within a center of excellence model, supporting large operations, logistics, or supply chain environment.
- Essential experience in supporting sizeable non-exempt employee populations (hundreds of employees).
- Experience managing dispersed teams across both physical and remote locations.
- Strong analytical skills, HR Analytics, Workday, Excel, and Google Suite proficiency, and proven ability to leverage data to inform decision-making and drive insights.
- Proven track record in successfully launching effective HR policies and procedures and building high-performing teams.
- Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, with experience implementing policy and program changes in response to evolving regulations while ensuring consistency across varying laws.
- Demonstrated sound judgment and the ability to navigate through ambiguity.
