About the team:
The Execution Services team is responsible for the entire brokerage execution experience for Robinhood Securities, including trading operations, Best Execution, order routing, fractional and notional trading, and spearheading new trading initiatives.
The Director of Execution Services is responsible for identifying internal and external strategic issues and opportunities that could affect growth and profitability of the organization. Activities include: Identifying growth opportunities, business model innovation, and facilitating cross-business unit initiatives; monitoring medium to long-term business trends/outlooks, gathering competitive intelligence to contribute to strategic business planning discussions with leadership; identifying and developing optimal revenue models, sales/distribution channels, pricing, and new product development strategies; identifying and negotiating strategic partnerships including financial arrangements, customer sharing, and intellectual property rights; prioritizing and tracking investments across new product development initiatives.
The preferred location for this position is in or around Robinhood's offices in Chicago, IL, with in-office work capabilities, as may be required by management.
What you’ll do day-to-day:
- Ownership of specific trading initiatives, crafting documentation and setting requirements to be used as the source of truth for cross-functional partners.
- Ongoing collaboration with product and engineering partners, translating business and regulatory requirements into design and technical implementation.
- Identification of key gaps in process or controls and crafting clear and concise plans to address.
- Act as key partner to compliance partners to develop written policy and procedures when new features are introduced or product changes are implemented and assist in response related to trading.
- Lead overall strategy of trading for the firm, identifying new opportunities and setting directives for near and medium term futures.
- You will play a key role with cross functional teams driving and shaping our product roadmap, turning innovative ideas into concrete action plans and timelines.
- Engagement with upper level management across all business lines to drive firmwide goals and shape long term objectives for Robinhood.
About you:
- Deep subject matter expertise in retail brokerage or trading field(Securities Exchange, ATS, Market Making, Prop Trading, etc)
- History working directly with engineers in a trading or brokerage environment leading directly to code implementation
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or Quantitative field
- FINRA SIE, Series 7 & 24 (If not held then earned within 6 months)
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of ownership
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, learn quickly, think critically, and prioritize/own multiple projects
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships
- Resourcefulness, persistence, and ability to thrive in fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong analytical abilities, proficiency with data, and familiarity with making data-driven decisions
- Strong Robinhood product knowledge
- Experience interfacing with technical and non technical teams
Bonus points:
- FINRA Series 57
- Experience as an engineering manager or otherwise leading engineering teams
- Experience in regulatory response at a brokerage or trading firm
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. You can view comp zones for our US office locations in the table below. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
