Position Overview:

The Director – Corporate Technology Strategy (CTS), Architecture, reports to the Sr. Director, CTS Architecture and is the lead Infrastructure Architect. This role collaborates with the CTS Business Solutions & Operating Models and Incubation teams, and partners with division business technology leads and other stakeholders to assess current Infrastructure Architecture and determine areas of improvement, best practices, and next steps for the implementation of business technology architecture transformation.

Your Impact:

  • Acts as expert for infrastructure teams in the plan, design, and delivery of IT solutions.

  • Advises teams of IT technology standard requirements, methodology and processes.

Infrastructure Architecture:

  • Development and management of continuing enterprise architecture by evaluating technology and business needs and determine the potential impact on the business.

  • Drives short- and long-term infrastructure architecture strategy for the overall IT project portfolio for key business segments.

Data Architecture:

  • Review and determine optimizations for existing data solutions to drive strategy for enterprise data management.

  • Ensure the integrity of existing and recommended data backup and storage systems.

Business Solutions Architecture

  • Act as a subject matter expert in business technology solutions in advising clients.

  • Business systems and application analysis in support of development and implementation of business applications.

  • Participates in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.

  • Communicates and validates business solutions architecture with infrastructure team, and technology services management team.

  • Assesses the effectiveness, efficiency, and soundness of technology solutions and promotes consistency across division technology solutions, where appropriate.

  • Partners with BTO Leads to drive technology transformation efforts.

  • Applying best practices, maintaining knowledge of emerging technologies, and implementing innovations to deliver value.

  • Provides periodic updates to Senior Management on technology architecture matters, as needed.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including division heads, BTOs, risk partners and the Federal Housing Finance Agency.

  • Attracting, developing, and retaining staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

  • 10+ years’ experience in a production IT environment managing enterprise IT infrastructure, databases and data lakes, application development, hardware, hosting service and/or network areas.

  • Ability to write architectural design documents and review design documents provided by others.

  • Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to infrastructure, data, and business solutions architecture needs.

  • Demonstrated success leading significant, large-scale organizational transformation.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging technology concepts, practices, tools, and trends.

  • Clear understanding of the secondary mortgage market/Freddie Mac business.

  • Strong analytical capabilities with broad and deep functional expertise and knowledge.
