Director, Capital Management

 

 

 

Director

American National is seeking is a full-time, Director of Capital Management. You will be responsible for organizational capital management activities that include capital model operations and development, capital planning, evaluation of strategic investments, and ad-hoc decision support. You will also continually advance your skills to serve as a primary subject matter expert in relation to Life & Annuity and Property and Casualty internal capital model evaluation and analysis, stress testing, capital optimization, capital allocation, and regulatory reporting. 

 

Onsite Placement Locations: League City, Houston, and Galveston, Texas
 
How you will make an impact: 
•    Develop, maintain, and improve capital planning models across different capital regimes used by the company for different purposes – Statutory, rating agencies, and economic
•    Tell the "story behind the numbers" for current and forecast capital positions, answering questions about capital in real time with other teams across the finance organization
•    Prepare presentations that utilize a combination of storytelling and quantitative results to develop actionable insights utilized across the Finance and leadership teams within the company
•    Oversee the annual rating agency data collection process and coordinate deliverables with internal and external stakeholders

 

Qualifications:

•    Demonstrated three-year + period of reviewing and providing relevant actionable insights on both actual and estimated financial statements
•    Hands-on approach to working within the details of financial statements and models with experience in solving complex data anomalies
•    Detailed expertise in an aspect of financial statement analysis, forecasting, or modeling
•    Ability to reverse engineer an existing financial process and implement a solution using modern software or techniques
•    Direct understanding of finance functions such as budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modeling, and cash management
•    Ability to develop a financial model starting from a blank Excel or Google Sheets spreadsheet
•    Experience leading a team focused on delivering financial statement, financial accounting, or FP&A support on at least a quarterly basis
