Business Overview
Our Clients & Strategy team covers Business Development, Investor Relations, External Relations, Sustainable Investment and Brand, Marketing & Communications, including Internal Communications.
It is responsible for all communications to investor prospects, existing investors and their asset consultants, as well as a broad range of other stakeholders, including governments and media.
The Role
• Lead capital raising efforts for IFM’s infrastructure debt and diversified credit capabilities across North American institutional investors, consultants and intermediaries
• Originate and convert new business opportunities with a strong focus on private credit and infrastructure debt investors
• Leverage an established network of institutional relationships across the private credit/credit space to drive investor engagement and accelerate fundraising outcomes
• Partner closely with debt investment professionals to represent capabilities in client meetings, due diligence processes and ongoing client discussions
• Contribute to the growth and scaling of IFM’s debt platform by identifying new investor segments, market opportunities and product gaps
• Provide commercial input into product development, including commingled funds, SMAs and bespoke solutions aligned with investor demand
• Build and maintain deep relationships with key stakeholders across pensions, insurance, consultants and other institutional allocators
• Support and lead complex client engagements, including structuring discussions, negotiations and execution of mandates
• Collaborate across GCS, product specialists and internal teams to deliver coordinated client coverage and drive successful outcomes
• Act as a senior representative of IFM’s debt platform, enhancing brand awareness and positioning in the private credit and infrastructure debt market
• Contribute to broader North American growth and diversification strategy while helping to define and build IFM’s debt franchise
Your Background and Experience
- 12+ years in institutional business development, with a strong preference for infrastructure debt, private credit, direct lending, or broader credit experience
- Proven track record of originating and closing capital from institutional investors, particularly across credit / debt strategies
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale a business line, strategy or client segment
- Deep experience managing senior-level client relationships across pensions, insurance and consultants
- Experience operating in an entrepreneurial or growth-oriented environment, with a “builder” mindset
- Undergraduate degree
- Advanced degree in a Finance discipline a plus, but not required
- Professional qualification, eg CFA, CAIA a plus, but not required
- FINRA Series 24, 7, and 63 required
- Strong understanding of credit, particularly private credit, infrastructu
