Director, Benefits

About the Role:

Bond Vet is building the next generation of veterinary clinics from the ground up, and we are looking for a Director of Benefits leader to join our team.

As our Director of Benefits, you will be responsible for building the immediate and long-term Benefits strategy to attract, motivate, and engage our talent. This role will manage all aspects of our benefits strategy, including design, administration, and compliance.

We are looking for someone collaborative, proactive, and analytical who can lead us through our fast-paced growth trajectory. This is a build role "from the ground up," both strategic and tactical, with heavy vendor management responsibilities. At Bond Vet we move at a very fast pace, so speed and agility is required. 

 

What:

• Manage the development and delivery of the Company's Benefits programs, including Health, Wellness, and Financial benefits programs.
• Own all benefits systems, tools, broker and vendor relationships.
• Develop strategies to manage plan costs, improve the population's health, provide competitive benefits, and comply with healthcare reform regulations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and counselor to business leaders and employees on the company's benefits philosophies and offerings.
• Approve Leave of Absence (LOA) requests in alignment with our policies.
• Lead communication strategy and adoption of benefits programs company-wide.
• Own external (governance, audit, federal, state) and internal HR compliance and requirements, working closely with the Head of People and Legal team.
• Regularly benchmark company programs and monitor external trends to ensure they are efficient and cost-effective but attractive, helping to attract and retain Team Members. This will allow us to proactively adjust programs to ensure market competitiveness.
• Manage the execution of annual benefit renewals and enrollment process and be involved in all phases of renewal discussions, benefits communication, and change management plans.
• Growth opportunity: This is currently an Independent Contributor (IC) role, managing our Vendors and Brokers; as we add to our clinic portfolio, we envisage this role leading a team and expanding responsibilities.

• Knowledge and best practices in financial reporting.
• Ability to multitask and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. 
• Multi-entity/multi-state experience required.
• 7+ years experience working in a benefits role.
• Knowledge of current and pending federal and state regulations regarding employee benefits programs (ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, Section 125, etc.).
• Must have experience managing an entire Benefits Portfolio (self-insured model).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with UKG Pro is highly preferred.

Compensation will fall between $140,000 - $150,000 annually based on experience, in addition to annual bonus and equity opportunity.
